Early Assessment

Talks about how he watches idolizes PG13 and Luka recently. From his interviews he studios film so much more.

Needs to keep working on adding size, and improving his hips on defense. He has the ability to get easy blocks, and steals playing lanes. But early in his career he has to focus on

Skill Assessment

Offense strengths

  • Shooting: Was an above average shooter in HS, Transitioning to the nba gleague has had a slower start getting used to the size & physicality.

  • Passing: Needs to continue getting better at placement of passes on cutting, moving targets. Can make simple passes no issues, but not a point guard

  • Ball Handling: Well above average for his height, can dribble in traffic, cuts well with ball in hands

  • Off-ball movement: very good, back door cut is there, seems like he could come off screens and catch and shoot, but stationary floor spacer seems very comfy

  • Offensive Rebounding: Follows up teammates shots for put backs, but with heavy perimeter play i don’t expect him to be uber active here

Defense Strengths

  • Defensive Rebounding: Above average, but it depends so much on what role his team is using him as. At times when playing the “big” for ignite he is able to soak up a ton of boards without issues, very versatile, Does need to work on his hands when securing rebounds, saw extra turnovers when corralling a rebound.

  • Steals: plays lanes well enough

  • Blocks: immense potential, gets an easy block a game with his current awareness, tons of room to improve as he gains strength and timing for weak side rim help.

  • On-ball: needs to continue adding strength while focusing on his hips and positioning. There is a lot of room to get better.

Offense weaknesses

Defensive weaknesses

Comparisons:

  • Brandon Ingram - Top end offensive, self creation, High release point, mid range dribble pull up, uses shifty tempo to create space

  • Kyle Kuzma - If he keeps adding size to his frame

  • Gallo - More athletic, more active on the court

  • not Franz - but with worse defense, and facilitating vision, and bbiq with ball in hands. Needs a limited role right now to let him thrive early and grow slowly with more opportunities as time goes on

  • Worse Shooting, mpj role seems like what he could do
